MUSIC NEWS: ISLAND APOLLO & THE "BEACH-GOTH" REVOLUTION
What do you get when the nephews of The Beach Boys form a band with a couple of Irvine rock n' roll swagsters? You get Island Apollo, perfectly dubbed Southern California's revolutionary new rock band. Their new song "Lion Eyes" really hits it hard with roaring guitars and an epic backbeat. This harmony-heavy rock band incorporates many of the elements that you'd hear from a modern day "Beach-Goth" artist - complete with reverb drenched falsetto and five part harmonies, the band also does a great job at incorporating unconventional instruments.
Featuring Spencer Ludwig of Capital Cities 'Safe and Sound' fame on trumpet, this track has the potential to be just as big a hit as their California duet counterparts.
